Garageband Instructions

This is mainly aimed at the EMB 265 Broadcast News Writing class; however, it’s not a bad idea to give everyone a shot at this.I’ve posted the instructions for setting up, recording, editing and exporting/importing files in Garageband on the Google Doc for the class.

I’ll be adding a few instructions for Soundtrack, which is a more advanced editing program. There will be times when you’re sound won’t exactly match up; there is a simple way to raise the levels of your piece. There will be a time when you’ll need to convert a certain type of audio file so it works in Garageband; Soundtrack does that quite well (if you don’t happen to have a converter - if you have a PC, there are free programs that do this).

So why did I add JOU 220 and MIN 252. Well, the journos — once you start lab, if you would like to learn how to create a podcast, we can do that with one of your stories; for the MIN 252 Non-linear and interactive storytelling, you can record short audio clips that can be included in your game (I believe).
