Using Lexis-Nexis
I got a good question on searching in Lexis-Nexis from Brytani. She asked how you string together search terms. Here’s a quick guide:
- You can do commas if you want any of the words (Big, Red, Machine)
- You can use + if you want all the words (Big + Red + Machine)
- You can use ” ” if you want the words together (”Big Red Machine”)
Also, make sure you choose as many publications as you can initially - and make your search very broad to begin with - and then you can hone it down. If you need help, let me know what you are searching for -= and what terms you are using.
And finally, you may want to use Google News first. Sometimes, that helps you figure out other terms you can search for.
