Hey JOU 220 folks:

  1. The Google doc is updated with tonight’s notes
  2. The tentative schedule is updated to include: The Word Proficiency Exam is now due Thursday, Sept 4 instead of Tuesday, Sept 2.
  3. And for those who want to see what happens when you rely on anonymous sources, please check out this episode that happened while I was the editor/producer of TechnologyReview.com.

Hey all:

I’m slowly adding the project outline, story outlines and grading rubrics in the document section. This will be completed by tomorrow, but you can begin to examine what each of the projects will look like — and what will be expected of you.

Check it out.

Hey all:

I’ve gone through my notecards and added many of you to my Facebook account. If I haven’t added you there are two reasons that happened:

  1. I couldn’t figure out which one of “you” was the NKU student. If you have your network settings to hide your location, then I can’t verify you’re the correct person to add. If that’s the case, you can add me directly; or
  2. You don’t have an account

I don’t post vital information there. That all goes through the website or my Google Group (for Media Informatics majors — and those interested).

Hey all:

The new JOU 220 syllabus is in the system so download away. Sorry for the confusion ;)

If you have questions about something I’ve posted, please leave a comment on the post in question. You neither need to log in nor register. Instead, you simply provide your name and email address, add your comment and submit.

Odds are if you have a question, someone else does as well.

Once a month, Media Informatics hosts a movie night in LA 110 at 630 pm. We discuss large projects students have worked on, showcase work, discuss opportunities and general talk about creative projects.

And we have pizza and watch a movie.

This Friday at 630 pm, we are having our first movie night. The features: Tron and Hackers, a double feature for those who want to stick around.

Announcements happen at the beginning — as does the pizza — so no worries about sticking around all night if you don’t want to.

In order to gain access to the lab this semester, students need to register their NKU IDs with me. Once that process is finished, you can come and go from the lab as often as you want.

For access, please give us your first name, last name and last 8 digits of your student ID.

Do that here.
