Hello Students:

I thought this would be an interesting story to look at. It’s not exactly the best example of a digital story, but there are some elements I find worthwhile. We’ll talk more, but what are your thoughts?

Hello Students:

Here is a power point overview of the lecture for this Thursday’s class. I highly recommend reading my posted chapters before going through this. It’s complicated stuff (not because I wrote it, because it gets into some weird technological stuff).

I am keeping the faith, however.

Hello Students:

I’ve posted a draft of 3 chapters (they are short; they are also very draft-y) in the BSU Lecture Notes section of this site. Or you can download the PDF by clicking on this link. The lecture will touch on the five types of stories that you might tell.

Please read this. For the more technologically inclined, this may be an option for your project this semester.

Hello Students:

I have added a new TAB along the top of my website: BSU Lectures Notes.

You will find a link to PDFs (and I apologize for the ever-changing formats and font sizes) for our classes. I have tried to identify them as easily as possible (week + topic). I encourage you to use this information in conjunction with the reading and during our discussions.

Please let me know if you have issues downloading any of these. Thank you.

Hello Students:

Here is the presentation for Chapter 3′s reading, the last of our “approach” reading before we delve into the case studies. Make note that your first paper is due on Thursday, Sept 10 at the start of class.

Hello Students:

I’m a bit late on this; however, this should give you a decent guidepost for the two reading selections. Please make sure you read them as we’ll have a class discussion. If I feel that the material hasn’t been given its due attention, we will have quizzes to begin every class.

I am confident that will not happen.

Hello Students:

You’ll notice on the syllabus there are two aspects of the industry we have to cover this week. Your quiz will cover ONLY the reading from the book. However, in the second part of the class we are going to cover the types of writing that exists in the magazine world. Here are those notes:

Here is the power point presentation for Thursday’s lecture + discussion. Remember, use this as a frame for the reading.
