Hello Students:
Just to answer a few questions (for those of you who freak out after I fall asleep).
The second paper requires that you either chose a specific company or a general industry, and determine whether the your ethical foundation or the ethical guidelines of your company/industry will guide your decision-making process.
It’s an argument so you will simply make a decision one way or the other, then make your case.
To do that, you will need to grab a few Normatives (e.g. specific instances in real life when ethical dilemmas occurred between an individual and a company) that support your case. You will briefly describe those cases and explain why they relate to your argument.
Then you will rank those Moral Duties — there are six of them and you must rank and explain why you have put them in that order based upon your foundation and your decision (e.g. You or Your Company).
This is the last of the hypotheticals. We move into Case Study’s next week; however, I want you to have a base for your decisions (e.g. What Is My Foundation; Who Decides Me or My Company).
We will immediately begin destroying this self-perception next week
