ICOM 101: The Digital World

This class introduces students to several design processes that are used to create digital products, which includes a holistic approach to development. Students will learn standard research, design, prototyping, testing, and evaluation methods, and they will learn how to communicate those processes using written and oral methodologies.

  • Comprehend and apply academic research and writing methodologies as demonstrated through out-of-class writing
  • Comprehend basic structures of interaction design as demonstrated through readings, in-class discussions, and out-of-class exercises
  • Comprehend how interaction design and user experience design methodologies will be used throughout the Digital Media Minor as demonstrated through in-class lectures and discussion
