JOU 220: Thursday Sked
Hey all:
Just a reminder that we will not have class on Thursday as I have to give a presentation in Cincinnati (which you are all welcome to see if you so choose. Please see the OUT & ABOUT section for details).
I will pass out a list of instructions for signing up for Social Media on Tuesday (’cause you still have an assignment to do), which you can try on Thursday. We’ll cover the homework the following week; however, I we need to press forward. I have the utmost confidence in your ability to try
Availability This Week…Not So Much
Hey all:
Normally I’m around throughout the week; however, I have a presentation and some writing that needs to get done so I won’t be on campus much.
- I will not be on campus on Monday or Wednesday (my office hours will be online as stated)
- I will be on campus on Tuesday (including my office hours).
- I will be on campus until 11 am on Thursday. I will be leaving after EMB 265 (1045) to prepare for a presentation I’m giving at 6 pm that evening.
- I will be on campus from 11-2 pm on Friday before heading out for the weekend to work on my book.
The Last Lecture
Some of us have talked about David Foster Wallace in the last week. We’re going to continue with that theme a bit this week with Randy Pausch, who can teach you things that I can’t.

Printing the Final
Hey all:
A few options you have. If you are on a Mac, in the TRACK CHANGES OPTION just make sure that the box that says print markup with final is UnChecked!
On the PC:
- Make sure that you are simply printing FINAL in the Reviewing toolbar; or
- In the FILE tab across the top of your document, go to Print. Within the Print pop-up there is a drop-down box that says: Print What. Make sure that is set to just DOCUMENT. If it says Print with Markup, change it to just Document.
JOU 220: No Class Thursday, Oct 2…but
Hey all:
The good news: I have to give a presentation to Ad2 in Cincinnati at 6 pm on Thursday, Oct 2 (Gameday in Cincinnati). You are welcome to come but it’s by no means mandatory. I’ll be discussing social media, alternate reality gaming and the media.
The bad news: your assignments that day are still do. I’m going to have a series of tutorials up for you guys That means you have to give it a shot. WOOHOO. (No freakouts those of you afraid of computers…we’ll go over it in class — after the ethical issues).
