You can find the list of PIRs for Fall 2010 here. There will be updated along the way. (Also: Biz Stone, co-founder of Twitter, will be speaking on Sept. 17 I believe).

You can find the latest list — alway — in the LECTURES section of this site.

End of Line.

I mentioned that eyewitnesses (and your own perceptions) are the least accurate part of reporting. Here’s why:

Once you’ve finished that test, let’s move along to this one. Even when you know what you’re looking for, you’ll find that you don’t know what you’re looking for.

All of this is to say: research, interviews, science, facts and other hard information is what will distinguish you as a reporter. But if you get into a personal experience debate with folks, you’ll find yourself in an un-winnable situation.

The first Professionals in Residence Speaker is Monday, September 20 at 7:30 p.m in LB 125. Matthew Tully, a political columnist for the Indianapolis Star, will be speaking. Tully has covered government and politics since 1992. He started his career at the Gary Post-Tribune, later covered the U.S. Senate for Congressional Quarterly, and has worked for The Indianapolis Star since 2002.

Hello Students:

This is the technology form you should fill out so that I may place you in groups that are appropriately sized. If you fail to fill this form out, you will not be assigned to a group.

Both groups did an amazing job pulling together their thoughts. I’ll add the written documents to our project once I’ve received the final revisions. Until then, enjoy your presentations:

Group A: The Professor from Brad King on Vimeo.

This is the description for The Professor, one of The Soho Theatre transmedia storytelling groups this summer

Group B: Formerly The Oracle from Brad King on Vimeo.

This is the description for what was once The Oracle, one of The Soho Theatre transmedia storytelling groups this summer. This was changes at the last minute, so…check it out.

Sadly, my time at The Soho Theatre has come to an end, but the groups did some amazing work tonight. After working through their stories and some basic content building exercises, they really rocked out.

TheaterWorkshop_Final4

Tonight’s presentations were all about creating and building structures for their transmedia ideas.

TheaterWorkshop_Final2

How very analog.

TheaterWorkshopDay5_4

I’ll post the final story presentations in the morning. (I need to get them uploaded first.) But thanks to everyone who participated, Nina and The Soho Theatre and everyone who had anything to do with the project.

What fun!
