Greetings (Digital Media Minor) Programs:

At the end of January, I will be submitting a mass fix to your DAPRs.

The last year has been crazy as we move our program online. Lots of substitutions and all. To ensure that everything is correct and that you will graduate, I would like you to go through your coursework and provide me with an update for what you have done.

Please go to this form, and fill out the requestion information.

This exercise will help you figure out what you have taken and what you haven’t, but it will also serve as a record in case there is an issue later. We will have an account of our agreement on classes.

Mahalo.

As part of this year’s Digital Storytelling class, the groups are required to produce two trailers to promote their semester-long projects. As always, prepare for the weird.

Greetings Programs:

You can find today’s lecture notes on the class website, or here:

ICOM 210: How To Write an Academic Paper

ICOM 375: The Final Packet

Greetings Programs:

For those of you doing research papers, citations matter a great deal. But they are not easy to get right. To help out, I suggest using ZOTERO, a plug-in for Firefox. Trust me when I tell you: this will change your life.

Greetings Programs:

For those of you in the Digital Media Minor – or considering the Digital Media Minor – you can keep up with conferences, information on classes, and other related events on our new Facebook page.

Greetings Programs:

In the NEWS 397 and ICOM 375 classes, we are keeping production journals.

I would like you to package up all of your work into 1 document (please use the MARKED UP versions if you have them; the originals if you don’t), turn that document into a PDF and turn those in the DROPBOX folder:

  • ICOM 375: Production Journal PDF Packets
  • NEW 397: FinalProductionJournals

This is for 2 purposes:

  1. It will allow us to evaluate you across the entire semester (or me, if you’re in ICOM 375); and
  2. It will enable the research team to easily read through individual and group journals.

The ICOM class will have their work done by this Thursday; The TransIndy class has until one week from today.

Thanks, and great work peeps.

I let you know I would be holding a LIFE AFTER COLLEGE seminar this term, and we’ve finally got around to scheduling it with the Men of Color. Everyone is welcome!

**

On Thursday November 17, I will be conducting a workshop hosted by the Men of Color about “Life After College.” In this workshop, we will go over creating a budget (which will include an interactive budget Excel sheet I’ve made for everyone), negotiating your salary, and making your way in the business world.

The workshop will start at 5 pm and will be in the Student Center Music Lounge.
